Thought it was a great course and very well delivered with passion and professionalism with a great aim of saving lives. Thank you.
I marked this "After completing the training are you more confident you can recognise the signs that someone may be experiencing thoughts of suicide?" as NO because I felt confident prior to the course that I could recognise these signs. I don't find role play in these situations useful as it is not real life and I don't think it adds anything. I would have preferred to spend more time focussing on ways to help someone in this situation. I found some bits confusing, i.e. first we are told we are only administering 'first aid' to the person thinking of suicide and to hand over to a professional, then later we were told not to rush to hand over but to concentrate on building rapport with the person. The course was a bit long. Some people were flagging for the last hour and a half.
Great course to which I feel more prepared to help young people
insightful training experience, engaging and provided good knowledge.
This training was thought provoking and I will think about suicide - the effects on the individual and the others who are impacted - in a different way. I will also use the language and questions to feel more confident to engage in more direct conversations.
as a call handler for the initial response service , i have learned the use of different terminology makes so much differance
Thank you Paige, it was informative and thought provoking.
I've really enjoyed this course, although it's a lot of learning in a short amount of time I've felt supported and encouraged each day.
I really enjoyed this training and have learnt so much. I'm really looking forward to teaching the SFA courses in the future and am very grateful for the opportunity to do so.
