This training has deepened my knowledge of suicide and helped in boosting my confidence in talking about it with young people.

A very worthwhile course. As mentioned, practice makes progress, so I can't say 'I have this nailed', but I feel a lot more confident now about talking to people appropriately about suicide, and potentially saving lives.

I have had previous experience with suicide interventions so was unsure what I would gain from this. It has been a great corse and I have been able to take things away and be able to link them easily to my Mental Health First Aid. Thank you Christine

Considering how heavy the nature of this training could be both Paige and Jo delivered the training in a way that was informative and professionally but also in a way that was able to keep the mode of the group from being to sombre. The activities worked well in particular the activity about active listening for 2 solid minutes as well as getting a chance of actually asking someone directly if they are having thoughts of suicide. I have done similar training about suicide first aid before and this is the first time that I have had that chance to ask someone that in a safe and controlled environment which made it so much more effective.

The course content flowed very well, the video showed 2 very good examples of people at risk of suiciding and what you can do and say that can help prevent someone from taking their life. The workbooks contain some forms which I will find very useful in the future.

I enjoyed how informal the course was and how easy in was to interact.
