The National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education & Training UK CIC Reviews

I think this training is always a good thing to have. it was a good refresher for someone who has experience with dealing with people struggling with suicidal thought/tendencies. I think its such a great course for those who have little experience. I really like some of the phrases that have been used today 'sometimes when people...'. the main thing i have taken is how when someone tells us whats going on, we go back with the feeling. fantastic bit of advice. really enjoyed the course

Whilst I appreciate that time is always constrained on courses such as these, having more time to role play would make the session more realistic and relatable. The phrases used were prescriptive and it would have been good to explore scenarios where a different response might be received. Overall though it was a good course and I felt I learnt much from it.

I so enjoyed this course, which is strange due to the content. I feel I have learned so much. Katie is excellent at getting points across and keeps you engaged for the whole day.

Really good session and I agree that it should be compulsory for front-line staffs

Amazing trainer who really know's her stuff. I feel much more knowledgeable on a subject that has so much stigma attached to it.

This training was really valuable and thought provoking. It made me realise that talking and asking questions is so important when supporting an individual who's behaviour has changed, and recognising these changes in their behaviour. It also made me realise that I don't have any answers, but that questioning and listening to an individual is so important at this time.

It was great to have opportunity during the course to talk with other professionals F2F in the field of supporting CYP clients struggling with suicidal thoughts. And helpful to remind ourselves that talking openly and asking direct questions about if someone is thinking about suicide is important. The course is well structured and a good introduction for any professional who comes in contact with CYP having suicidal thoughts, and initiating a conversation with CYP around these thoughts.
