The National Centre for Suicide Prevention Education & Training UK CIC Reviews

Having attend lots and lots of training around mental health, etc - I feel alot of trainings have underlying political motivations that does not represent the real experiences of the workers being trained. I felt on this training, Katie encouraged a fact based discussion and learning despite some of the facts being potentially not PC - For example, when discussing suicide in men - I overheard some other trainees saying to Katie during break that this subject got their back up and asked why they should be expected to offer space for angry men. I heard Katie give them some information about testosterone and other general information about the risk of suicide that is specific to men. I thought it was fantastic she did this.

This was a well-structured and thoughtfully delivered training. The tutor created a calm, supportive environment for discussing sensitive topics, and the practical activities helped build confidence in applying the skills in real situations.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Even though it is a very sensitive topic, Kevin was speaking in a way that put everyone at ease. I learned a lot and I would love to learn more. I have written so many notes from what I've learned. Thank you. I hope to enrol on the RSPH Level 4.
