Having lost a dear friend to suicide, this course really brought home the need for more people to be trained, so that more lives can be preserved. Living near Beachy Head, an area of natural beauty, but also one which the cliffs are a draw to those who might be considering taking their own life, -this course equips you to be able to spot the 'warning' signs and has provided those first initial stages in helping to preserve life. It was also fantastic to have our amazing Chaplaincy Team join us to provide an insight into their work and indeed how they manage situations. An amazing tool to have.
Very informative facilitator and well paced.
A well planned course with active participation from all that made a difficult subject matter engaging and enjoyable to be part of. The exercises and regular breaks were necessary to keep it fresh. At no point did I feel the course dragged.
I have more confidence about how to actually ask the question "Are you thinking of Suicide"
I have gained a great deal from this course and will apply my new knowledge to my professional & personal life.
I have really valued the training and being given time and space to consider suicide. The step by step approach to what we could do was very helpful, as well as the acknowledgement that it is OK to ask about suicidal thoughts.
Brilliant course, makes me reflect on my own mental health, my own judgments, my own discomfort and it actually feels good
