Throughout my career within the CJS and Support Work I've had a lot of involvement in Mental Health Support, including Suicide prevention and deliberate self harm, and I found today's training good to recap on recognising the risk and how to reassure and find a safe solution to suit the needs of the individual.
Being able to discuss this topic openly with clients will be beneficial going forward. I needed to understand the best ways to do this (to open dialog etc.) and to be confident to do so. This course has provided ways to apply the skills to do so. I look forward to putting this into practice when needing to do so. Thank you.
I thought the training was very informative and will be beneficial ti use in the long term for clients we are dealing with and help staff members to be in a better position to deal with them
I have such a greater understanding of the subject matter. I feel confident to deliver the training as the feedback from Alison has increased my confidence and ability to deeper understand a person who is thinking of suicide. I love the PAUSE!! thank you so much
Good course and I would certainly recommend it to everyone wishing to have more knowledge on how to tackle this sensitive subject
The trainer was excellent and very clear in her explanations. Her experience over the years, giving examples of situations, really made the training feel real and not hypothetical.
The course was well paced and informative, the materials provided were also informative
This has been one of the best courses I have been on and it is good to raise awareness.
Response: Thanks for your feedback, Beverley and again for your valuable contributions.
Great and informative course which helped to identify a range of causes, reasons, signs of suicide and how to support someone in a moment of crisis.
