Considering how heavy the nature of this training could be both Paige and Jo delivered the training in a way that was informative and professionally but also in a way that was able to keep the mode of the group from being to sombre. The activities worked well in particular the activity about active listening for 2 solid minutes as well as getting a chance of actually asking someone directly if they are having thoughts of suicide. I have done similar training about suicide first aid before and this is the first time that I have had that chance to ask someone that in a safe and controlled environment which made it so much more effective.

The course content flowed very well, the video showed 2 very good examples of people at risk of suiciding and what you can do and say that can help prevent someone from taking their life. The workbooks contain some forms which I will find very useful in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed today's training session as it has given me more of an insight into the topic of suicide. Also I have learnt a lot about language sensitivity when talking about suicide to others who have been affected.

I found this session really useful and has definitely made me think about how I communicate with others. I'm more comfortable in talking about suicide and not being afraid to ask questions!

I really enjoyed the course and it has provided me with much more awareness of suicidal behaviour and has given me a lot more confidence with providing the required intervention.

Although I had some prior knowledge of suicide and mental health, I feel like I have refreshed this and learned new skills which I can use in practice. The course was at a good pace, with different activities to keep engaged with. It was great to virtually meet people from different areas and to listen to their experiences. I felt well supported and listened to, as can be a very emotionally-charged subject, and the tutor was excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you :)
