Part 2 - Giving Evidence - Witness Familiarisation Reviews
Chris B, 17 Jul 2025
The roleplay was challenging, but done in a supportive environment where we were all made to feel comfortable and successful regardless of how the questioning lines went. I was very impressed with the knowledge of Alister and that he managed to pull different learning experiences and themes from each person's cross-examination. The content about the courtroom was also useful and learning points like the ball and brick wall analogy were very helpful to consider moving forward.

Alister is an archetypical professional in law. All those I spoke with after the course said how Alister's presentation style was confident, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was very receptive to questions, encouraging attendees to engage and ask more! Attendees suggested they'd never been to such a well presented, interesting and engaging course, where they found it so useful for applying to their work. The slide content and explanations were very high quality and the role play court cross examinations were extremely helpful for practice and building experience. Thank you Alister, we will most certainly be using Bond Solon again. Highly recommended.

Kelly guided and supported the group excellently, explained aspects well giving practical examples and pointers to make the most of the potential difficult experience of having to give evidence in court.

Really enjoyed this course especially the exercise as there is no way to get training for cross examination so this was brilliant.

A really interesting interactive piece of training, that fulfilled my training objectives. Trainer was very professional and delivery was excellent.

Geraint is an interesting person which made it easy to pay attention. There was a slight lack in structure with no PP etc. However, this is not neccessarily a negative point as most training is now deemed as 'death by PP' .Geraint was able to create a relaxed environment with audience participation, which made it helpful to retain the information. A summary at the end of training would have been great with reflection on the questions that were asked but I'm aware that time was not on our side due to starting the training late, which was no fault of Geraints. I look forward to the next session and hope that the training is offered to the wider workforce is due course.

First-class training from Kelly, our trainer, who demystified the subject and provided the knowledge, behaviours and skills required to act as a confident professional witness at court. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!

Kelly was a brilliant trainer across the two days - great energy, engaging and really took the time to apply the learning to the various roles of those attending the course. I enjoyed the cross examining exercise at the end - excellent practice and good opportunity to observe in how to deal with difficult scenarios.

The course was delivered in an impeccable manner. I appreciated that we were not compelled to participate in role-playing activities.

Very good session that was well delivered for something that can be admittedly awkward and slightly embarrassing to do. I thought Steph really put everyone at ease and while she was very tough during the role play I don't consider this to be a negative in any way, it gave a sense of realism to what you might be up against and how important detail and preparation is.
