The training was powerful and changed my perception of what is the right thing to do in Mental Health First Aid situations. I have had a very positive experience with Darren and Stella, they were informative, engaging, understanding and approachable with all the questions and emotions we felt like we would like to share. I felt very much supported by Darren not just through the lesson but afterwards being able to reach out to him if we need his help/advice.

Darren was superb throughout. His personal experience of dealing with mental health and the wider implications of the current mental health crisis were important to discuss. The nuts and bolts of how to deliver effective mental health first aid were superb and along with the drilling of the ALGEE approach, I feel prepared to intervene when needed.

I found this course interesting, informative and absolutely vital. Having the confidence to ask the direct questions about suicide and self-injury has already helped my interactions with learners in centre. I did know a lot about mental health issues but now I feel better equipped with helping to deal with a crisis and how to approach a situation. Darren is so knowledgable and encouraging, it makes being on his courses a pleasure.
