It was at times a challenging course for me personally but I am glad I stuck with it. Sam was a good and empathetic trainer.
Si was brilliant and so open which helped others including myself to feel I also could be open and honest. Great group on this course too. Have already told people it's well worth going on. Thanks Si and team
Slight distraction at course start due to rooms, numbers etc.
Probably being a bit harsh in my ratings, but I guess what I was really looking for was more information on earlier detection and support, as opposed to being confronted with an extreme scenario - but that's based on my expectations.
It was very educational, but personally due to my issues with attention span I found the repeated back and forth between videos, scenarios and group work to be quite hard to keep track of.
It was an interesting course. There was a lot of discussion, I'd have liked to have done a deeper dive on the effects of abuse / depressing / drugs etc. on the physiological side. Caroline led the sessions with confidence and encouraged interaction.
Course was helpful, would've liked to practise talking scenarios in person more. Was more reading/writing and listening than practising ourself how to speak to someone in a crisis.
Would be much better in person. Sometimes there was too much direct talking from the leader. The tech let us down in the final session, so we couldn't view videos. The leader was very approachable, very helpful in giving us space to say how we were feeling each time, and excellent at answering questions during the presentations. I found it hard to remember the vast array of information presented so I am grateful for the course materials to which I can refer afterwards. A good time to pause and reflect about mental health. Thank you.
