Practical scenario work and repeated use of the ALGEE framework help attendees translate mental health first-aid principles into calm, supportive action. They value knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create safe, inclusive discussions, maintain a clear pace and encourage learning from peers. The blended modules, videos, handbook and breakout exercises build understanding and confidence that transfers to work and personal situations, although some find the online manual awkward to navigate.

I really enjoyed this course, the discussions were very engaging and the scenario questions allowed for deep discussions into the various topics throughout the course. I feel a lot more confident now in helping those with mental health concerns and I thought that Katy and Beth were amazing instructors.

I would like to thank both of you for providing me with this training. I have felt 100% comfortable throughout both sessions and have learnt so many skills that I can now use if required. You have both made this course as easy to listen to as possible as some topics can be triggering. Again Thankyou both for your guidance and support.

Really good training, presenters were excellent and used good examples from experience to help us apply the literature to the practical aspect of working in PHW. The material and the handbook are really good and will be useful going forward in my career. We had a good group and as such benefited hugely from this so it could be difficult if the rest of the group didn't contribute, the presenters did well to foster engagement. Some difficulties with Teams occasionally but to be expected! Thank you

Rachele was an amazing instructor and she kept the course talk light and very informative. She is a credit to MHW. I really enjoyed the course, even with some of the subjects such as suicide the course was kept light and you were able to learn about taboo subjects with ease. Thank you very much.

I found the course content good, I liked the videos and hearing from people who are living recovered lives, I would have preferred for the tutor to be more involved in the learning rather than us just looking at powerpoint / discussing in our own breakout rooms.

Incredibly informative training, delivered very professionally. Everyone should have access to MHFA training. It should be delivered alongside physical First Aid courses/training - just as important!
