Would have liked more videos of scenarios. Would have liked a bit more time to do the modules as found it hard to fit them in with work/ home life. Thanks

While some of the subjects are hard going, the sessions were run in such a way that it made it very interesting and approachable.

Promoted a better understanding of what mental first aid is and what you can do to intervene without being an expert. Liked the online modules, especially the one about eating disorders.

A really good balance between group discussions and presentation material during these sessions. Good to do self study modules before the training to have a good mix of learning styles .

Sara, our instructor was excellent; very knowledgeable and confident with a clear authentic presence. She responded thoughtfully to our engagement with all elements of the course. I thought the course materials were good, but I did think there was room to acknowledge the impact of neurodiversity and overlaps with many of the mental health presentations that were covered. While I know conditions like Autism aren't mental disorders, they do correlate with higher than average incidence of anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.

This course was very informative and outstandingly presented. The instructors were knowledgeable and passionate, relaying useful tips to us to use.

Great course - nice that it was split into two half days as it can be quite intense topic.

It was an excellent course, and Stevie and Deshna were both absolutely superb! The course had an excellent mix of factual information and group discussion, and recaps about ALGEE (so that we would remember it, and use it, if we were supporting someone with a mental health difficulty). Stevie and Deshna were very clear, knowledgeable, interesting and insightful. I very much enjoyed the discussion sessions as well, they really helped to cement the information. I feel much better prepared in supporting people with mental health difficulties now, it has taken some of the fear away, and given me a lot more knowledge so that there is less chance that I will miss something. (I had done an ASIST course and Safetalk and the S word already, so that had made me more confident already in asking whether someone is thinking about suicide). Stevie and Deshna are really lovely people too, (so were the others on the course) so it is brilliant to think that they are supporting students when they are not teaching MHFA. It was lovely to meet everyone on the course and spend time in their "company" on Zoom. The videos that are part of the course are really powerful and insightful, I could literally count the various signs of the various mental health conditions from them. And I loved the Nugget animation. Only think where there is any room for any improvement is, that I found the computer tech aspect of the modules that needed to be completed before the Zooms, a little bit clunky. Finishing one module and then it comes up with a status saying "You have finished". The first time, we needed to close that window and then mark it as completed. The second time when we got to that page, it went back to the home page I think. That could have been more seamless. And in the modules themselves it wasn't clear to me what I had to click, sometimes. Also, looking back, I wish that I had bought the physical manual earlier (I have now), I would have found it easier to do the module I think. Superb, Brilliant Course - thank you so much!!!

Thouroughly enjoyed this training, it was very informative and relevant to my practice. It was well delivered and I found the interactive aspects (break out rooms and discussions) very helpful. Thank you very much :)
