AI summary of reviews

Attendees particularly value the practical use of the ALGEE framework, scenarios and discussions, which make difficult mental-health topics approachable and give them confidence to recognise distress and start sensitive conversations with young people. They describe knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create a relaxed, non-judgemental space, alongside a well-structured blend of self-study, webinars and breakout activities. The handbook and resources support application at work, though some prefer face-to-face delivery.

Really valuable course where we could relate to lots of the issues facing pupils

Although I found the course insightful and well delivered. I personally find participating via teams difficult, I would have preferred a face to face session and with the intensity of the topics, this may work well. However plenty of support before during and after. Highly recommend!

I thought the training was really well presented. Jas and Nat did an excellent job of delivering the content in a light and engaging way, even though the topic itself could have been a difficult one to discuss. The session felt approachable and informative. Thank you.

I would have preferred access to a physical manual. Have ordered one but not in time for webinar. Maybe be told at time of registration that if you prefer paper, purchase now, ahead of course going live. Would have preferred case scenarios sent a few days before discussion in webinar, to give time for proper reflection

I think the course covered a lot of ground. Personally I find online course like this more stressful that F2F as I think discussion is more limited and therefore found the scenarios more difficult to engage with. I think there could be a bit more about PACE in the communication sections as I think this is a useful way to think about listening with empathy and without judgement

I really enjoyed the course. I like how its more interactive than other courses that includes completing modules in my own time, researching, and the sessions on the webinar. I think the content is great, although it kind of skims the surface in the short time we get to do the course, however the book is a really helpful resource that I will use again and again. I think I will use the ALGEE system a lot and maybe able to use it as a structure for other elements of how I engage with the young people in my service. Good course, thankyou
