An amazing course. I have done lots of other suicide conversation courses but this is the best one that I have attended. It is simple but powerful. My takeaway is the pause I do this but have never thought about this as an action I’m doing.

I came into the course because I have not felt equipped on occasions to support people with suicidal thoughts. This course has given me the confidence that I needed, to understand a bit more about what might be happening, how to communicate with them and to encourage me to not rush off the listening before trying to recommend an external organisation. I feel like I can make a better assessment during the conversation where the person is actually at which in turn gives me clarity over what signposting and support could be the most valuable. I can confidently give them more of me and my time without thinking I need to pass them on so quickly because I don't know.. which in turn could make a difference in itself.
