An excellent training session which has given me a far greater understanding of suicide prevention and how to speak to someone around suicide effectively.
As a listening volunteer my confidence has increased in regards to discussing suicide with others and I am reassured that I offer a valuable service by being available for people to talk to...
Someone who has life experience and create an atmosphere of interest not an easy topic for many of us involved
The information received from the tutor, now means I am more able to spot signs of a person have thoughts of suicide. I believe my confidence to speak with someone about suicide has most certainly increased. The pace of training and being allowed to be gentle with ourselves during the training was a real plus.
Really enjoyed training and found it valuable to the work I do. Tutor was very helpful and answered all questions and also checking in and out with everyone.
Such an excellent learning curve. I will be applying to attend the full day
Would it be possible to include information about the affect of suicide on children? When a parent dies by suicide it is something which alters their lives forever. We should prioritise their futures and try to help them process their loss, so that they are able to know they were loved and that it wasn’t their fault.
