It was good to think about techniques used. It was interesting how much the session highlighted cultural and personal differences.

The course is well planned and well structured. The content is good and leaves space for discussion (which would be good to have more time for in the session). I think it would also be good to check in and provide a space to feel safer before jumping straight in to the first task which was essentially telling the person some bad things that have happened to you.

I felt like there were two key pieces that were missing from the course framing. One was the role of bystanders in responding to non-inclusive language. (Often times a well placed question from a bystander can help to illuminate the issues without requiring the person who is affected to perform additional work ) The other was the role of power in these interactions. Oftentimes the person who made the remark has more power, either positionally or societally. That then affects how responses or repair might occur or not occur..

Claire, once again, was a wonderful trainer. The information was concise but interactive, and Claire really good at ensuring people have to think about her content instead of just listening to it which is brilliant. Giving realistic examples of scenarios that are clearly inappropriate, but are situations that people may combat with funny intent or the phrase "can't say anything nowadays" is good to put in to perspective for all. Can't say enough kind words!! I made a point on the call around photos for social media like linked in, with some people feeling uncomfortable and not wanting to have their picture out there for various reasons - if we could get that added for future sessions that would be lovely as social media becomes more prominent in business.

As always Claire is great at what she does and makes her audience feel at ease and engages with us a lot! Apologies for the lack of energy I think we were all short on coffee at 3pm!
