Associate Trainer (Train-the-Trainer) Refresher Course Reviews

Kieran S, 07 Oct 2025

Attended my associate trainer refresher today. The session was insightful and a good recap on breakaway skills. I learnt new information to use within my session to help delegates apply a gradient approach, remain safe and support people in a person centred and dignified way. Kirsty was engaging, helpful and respectful throughout. I always enjoy my annual refreshers and Sherwood as always, are incredibly supportive.

Always a delight to attend the refresher training. Kirsty was brilliant as always. Key points that stood out were the understanding how language shapes culture, how to improve de-escalation explained to staff, further understanding on the arousol model with the changes and the RPI refresher. The added examples and explanations made the training very enjoyable.
Response : Hi Bani. Thank you for your feedback. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the refresher training. It’s great to know the session reinforced key points on language, de-escalation, and the Arousal Model. We hope the session will continue to support you in your role as an Associate Trainer. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Always works well with Andy, great knowledge and understanding of the issues and how the setting runs. Have ideas around the issues and needs of learners and staff and spoke about what to look at to improve. Clear and clean with Q and A to check learning
Response : Hi Sean, Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. It’s fantastic to hear that working with Andy continues to be a positive experience, his deep understanding of the setting and the challenges faced by both learners and staff really shines through. We're glad his ideas around improvement felt relevant and constructive. It’s also great to know the Q&A was clear and effective in checking learning. That kind of clarity and responsiveness is exactly what we aim for. Thanks again for taking the time to reflect and share

Genuinely one of the most welcoming courses ive been on, I was paired with very experienced trainers and learned alot of small details that will help me become a better trainer in the future, this refresher was run in a very engaging way that helped me remember and demonstrated what ive learnt throughout the year

Useful to go over the techniques as this was recommended during my observation. Interesting to hear some examples of how to make the theory side of the course more engaging.
