Gemma was really enthusiastic and kept us going even when it was near the end of day and we were all tired. Enough breaks and Gemma always checked we were ok and there was a good balance between learning the important stuff and making it fun.

Fantastic in-depth course. Our trainer Rachel was amazing using humour and life experience to help us gage understanding of work situations.

An excellently delivered course, with a student-centred approach, underpinned by relevant psychological theory. The theory was easy for all to understand but staff were challenged to apply this to our school and students. Rachael was an outstanding deliverer; she was engaging, passionate and informative, with clear knowledge and understanding of the topics and skills required. Rachael engaged all on the course through various interactive activities and met the needs of the staff. Rachael has given me confidence to deliver restraints but also how to de-escalate students safely and calmly. All content was relevant for our school and Rachael’s relevant experience allowed staff to relate to her stories and examples. Everyone should do this course - whether you’re from a mainstream, private or SEN/SEMH school, a parent, a social worker or a youth worker. It really allows you to understand young people with trauma and behavioural difficulties and also the law involving restraints and physical contact with young people.
