The trainer began the day by telling us not to bore him, and then not to irritate him (someone was checking their phone) otherwise we wouldn’t get out of here and he would irritate us all back. He was quite intimidating, and because of this people held back from participating and answering his endless questions. He enjoyed talking and skipped over a lot of content including anaphylaxis. There was no opportunity to practice using a hoist, it was just a quick demonstration of one lift. Too much content to cover in one day and with a trainer who was clearly in pain and easily frustrated with people, it didn’t make for an encouraging, inclusive learning environment.

Too much info in one day. Not enough depth of information. Some inaccuracies in information not in keeping with other training attend recently.

Mandatory training, once a year, something you just got to do, plaster on a fake smile and and plough through this stuff one more time. I am a CPN. At times last Sat I spoke with a lab technician, a pharmacist, and other Professionals in the same boat, we laughed, muttered under our breathes, and generally just got through it. What in the name of common sense would any of us ever be doing with a hoist? How about the correct way to turn a patient in a bed? nope, you may as well try to teach me how to speak Cantonese. We watched a video of some kind of ITU setting wherein a doctor diagnosed sepsis, none of us knew what the point of it was. Of course there's a few general nurses in the room, and a bunch of support workers who work in homes. I really got to start shopping around here

The trainer came across as rudel and obnoxious .Spoke down to people and forced people to stand in front of the whole group. Myself and my colleagues felf very uncomfortable with whole process.

The chairs were poorly arranged around the walls of the room which meant I was sitting at 180 degrees to the slides and the white board. This made it extremely difficult to see the slides and made for a rather frustrating experience. I found the trainer to be extremely overbearing and verging on rude on occasion. There is no need to treat people like children. He spoke for 15 minutes about rabies which was completely irrelevant and also for 15 minutes giving us parental advice. All in all the worst Health and Safety study day I have experienced.
