The safeguarding children training was truly eye-opening, shedding light on many issues that should never be tolerated. I appreciate the efforts of CSC in protecting children and preventing abuse. This experience has further deepened my interest in exploring more opportunities to work with children.

The course is quite good, but not as thorough as the NHS, but covers most things.

John Madden was very good and knowledgeable and demonstrated the break away techniques very well. The theory part in the morning was interesting & covered a lot of information. However the 1st slide on page 6 of our booklet which had a diagram on the right hand side was too small to read in the booklet and also too small to read on the equivalent Power point slide that John showed us. John gave a very good example of a 55 yr old man who had a history of depression since the age of 15, and had tried every type of treatment, and was now in A& E and suicidal. John outlined whether staff could allow him to leave hospital under the Mental Capacity Act- which he could and then under the Mental Health Act - which he would not have been able to leave the hospital. I would have liked this example written down as a separate hangout to have as it really covered the Mental Capacity nuances well and I was unable to write all the points down in time. Otherwise it was Interesting, informative and thought provoking training which John ran very well.

The lack of parking and then the cost to park nearby is insane! It sounds like most people here are out of area, we do not need to be in a fancy hotel that is ultimately inconvenient. The information read out and the information on the slides did not interact at all. It’s okay to avoid death by PowerPoint but we didn’t recap 90% of the slides. The answers to the discussion questions were not relayed on the following slides. Lack of flush and ppe lost sight of simulation environment & one person assessing 4 people meant a lot of people had poor practise in simulation and were signed off regardless. Not bad, just not amazing.

She did great. We are all happy with her lectures and supervision throughout the training. She has been really helpful.
