Informative and well stuctured. More needs to be understood as to why more young men in this country are at risk of suicide than other parts of the world, say developing countries. Are these pressures related to the idea of materialism and gender equality? The idea that the more women are becoming more and more recognised as equals the less men feel 'needed'? What is the role of technology? Can science explain suicide? Are some people predisposed to take their own life? More work needs also to be done around the language used to talk about suicide. I don't think saying the person is likely to " do suicide behaviour" is a particularly successful alternative to "commit".

To further improve, the workbook would have been fantastic if we could have edited on screen/ interact with it. As I do not have access to a printer or an ipad that would have enabled this. The course was fantastic though, and I had more than 1 take away which is brilliant. There was just some places where it went a little slow for me, but I appreciate that this is not a 1-1 course, so don't think making it faster is particularly helpful.

Difficult to fully engage in a topic like this on a virtual platform. Its difficult as we are all muted most of the time which leads to it feeling a bit unnatural; as in a regular training session you can read body language and chip into discussions, ask questions more freely. But the training content itself is very is good and very useful.

Really excellent training I can use in my work. We were given a balance of resources both ‘human kindness’ but also practical resources eg. 3 steps and 6 step safety plan. I’d strongly recommend this to both our staff and volunteer team but also general wider public as these skills are essential in saving lives and normalising conversations about suicide and thoughts on suicide. Keep up the great work - Rose is also a great trainer I’d recommend!

See the section in feedback to the trainer - which is more about course design than nick actually!

Could have used more information to expand on what we’ve already been taught.
