Ian was most helpful and the way he took his time and answered any of our questions with a calming nature was reassuring.

I'm really impressed with the content, pace and flow of the course. Ian is a brilliant teacher.

Ian was a great tutor and I felt he managed to cover a lot of ground over the course of the week. I was concerned about doing the training online at first as I would have preferred the in-class version, but now I have completed the course I can honestly say that it was absolutely fine and I really enjoyed the experience. The start and end times worked well for my home life and and the breaks were also great to give us time to digest anything we were learning each day. Overall, a great course and would definitely consider doing another course in the future.

This course was supposed to be customised to our requests as a visualisation company in an architectural firm. After a start on basics and graphics related contents, more or less we went through topics we requested, but we didn’t notice a proper structured programme in according to our objectives. We kept asking the instructor to explain us some of the techniques we were interested in. The instructor welcomed all our requests and he showed himself attentive to our doubts. At the end we don’t feel to have been achieved the “hero” level the course names in its title since all the features and approaches to After Effect we learned, have been explored with basic examples and we didn’t have enough time to practise them more and in a deeper way.

The course was good, but I am frustrated that the exam I prepped for all day did not function properly. The software kept freezing and I could not it working properly. Hitting refresh did not fix it, and I got no reply in the chat. I would like to be able to take this exam fairly.

I found the instructor was excellent at his subject matter and personable but he went too fast and it was very hard to follow because it is very complex. I would say this course was hardly based at beginners. This is more due to the course content and what is expected to be covered rather than the instructor. I felt the instructor should have been on the same version as us – not a version that is older. The information about the exam was appalling. The instructor wasn't aware we were meant to do an exam until we asked him about it. We were not given information from Academy Class on how to sign up until a few hours before the exam which made us all stressed when we were meant to be focussed on studying. The instructions were also very unclear. We were expected to download software to do the practice exam just before the exam and most of us work for big companies that have firewalls and we can't just download software. My company takes days to grant permission. The instructor was able to download it and we went through the practice exam together on line. I felt the whole exam experience of signing in and get on to do it was a shambles. I also felt as if Academy Class would prefer us not to do the exam and it was reluctant to allow us to. Doing the exam was part of the deal with my company to attending the course. A Mac mouse won't right click during the exam to open pop up menus so I also lost points from this.

The course went above and beyond my expectations. Our tutor - Ian Gilbert, was a fantastic teacher. He made the training exercises simple to understand and fun.

Information regarding the final exam should have been sent prior to the day of it, as it took time to figure out how to access this. However, apart from this, the course was excellent. Dom especially made it incredibly valuable, and he is great as a tutor!

This course was beyond what I was expecting! So good! The course leader was very informative and patient, answering all questions thoroughly and giving advice for both real world use and the exam. The amount of content covered over 5 days was amazing, I feel more confidant and inspired to animate more! Thank you so much :)

Really enjoyed the course from start to finish. Learnt so much as the instructor Ian was setting us practical tasks from the very start. Definitely worth the money and have lots of new skills I can use in my role. He would also ask if there was anything we wanted to learn if it hadn't been covered. The class size was only 4 people which I think is the perfect size as I felt comfortable to ask questions.
