Youth MHFA face-to-face reviews

4.9 (537 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Its sensitive, supportive handling of difficult mental-health topics stands out: attendees say knowledgeable, approachable trainers create a safe, relaxed environment for open discussion. Interactive activities, case studies, role play, videos and workbook exercises make the learning practical and engaging, while the ALGEE framework and take-away materials provide clear tools to use at work. Attendees report stronger understanding and confidence in recognising concerns, starting difficult conversations and supporting young people and others. The content is extensive, but the pace generally feels manageable.

I have learned so much valuable skills in the last two days, Nick is a great instructor who engaged really well and opened up conversations within the group that made us all learn from each other as well as from the course materials. It has been really insightful training.

Really enjoyed the course, it was very informative. Even though we covered a lot of material, the pace of both days felt comfortable.

Sophie was very supportive and well informed, helping us understand the subject matter better and willing to answer questions and doing regular check-ins to ensure everything was feeling okay, given the nature of the course and information.

As an overall course it had some great content, trainers Helen and Faye were excellent and the pace was brilliant, allowing lots of contributions from the group. My only concern is that the course needs updating, and would benefit from recent statistics, and research, and local Specialist CAMHS clinicians to advise what happens in practice. To include this would give a more rounded appreciation of the process of mental health support offered in CAMHs and would be an opportunity to network with other organisations and model therapeutic questions which could be shared.
