Youth MHFA face-to-face reviews

4.9 (537 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Its sensitive, supportive handling of difficult mental-health topics stands out: attendees say knowledgeable, approachable trainers create a safe, relaxed environment for open discussion. Interactive activities, case studies, role play, videos and workbook exercises make the learning practical and engaging, while the ALGEE framework and take-away materials provide clear tools to use at work. Attendees report stronger understanding and confidence in recognising concerns, starting difficult conversations and supporting young people and others. The content is extensive, but the pace generally feels manageable.

David and Jayne were fantastic instructors with a lovely laid back but open approach. There was plenty of team discussion time and overall general discussion. 2 days seems about right for the delivery although if I was offered 3 days I’d be happy with that too. All interesting topics covered.

David Williams, Jayne Cornelius and the MHFA course were absolutely brilliant! The course was really useful, highly informative and very interesting. Anyone doing this course will be very equipped to support both students and staff who have a wide range of mental health issues, or addiction problems. Staff in a wide variety of roles in the university should definitely do this course - it is EXTREMELY valuable. Importantly we also learned the Swansea context for the support systems on campus. Absolutely superb.

Excellent course. Throughly enjoyed it. Siobhan and Christie are so knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. They made sure that all participants were felt comfortable throughout the course with regular check-ins.

Really enjoyed the session. The session was open for discussion and had explanations for reasoning. I have a much better understanding of mental health and the support that can be offered. There were both workbooks, videos and activities that kept the course interesting.

This was an excellent course with very knowledgeable instructors. I feel that not only will I be able to support the children in my care but also the adults. With the rise in mental health issues and the needs of the children coming through our schools, I honestly feel like everybody should be able to take this course.
