Its sensitive, supportive handling of difficult mental-health topics stands out: attendees say knowledgeable, approachable trainers create a safe, relaxed environment for open discussion. Interactive activities, case studies, role play, videos and workbook exercises make the learning practical and engaging, while the ALGEE framework and take-away materials provide clear tools to use at work. If there is an opportunity to add in further activities that get staff moving around this would make the session more interactive. For example for agree or disagree statements you could have learners moving to different sides of the room. If you wanted to show how learners feel a person could be impacted by having a mental health diagnosis you could get them too start at one side of the room and take steps forward.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course was an invaluable experience. The content was thorough and covered a wide range of mental health issues that young people face today. I particularly found the sections on identifying warning signs and how to approach and support a young person in distress to be very useful. Stella's knowledge, understanding and having created a supportive learning environment, made it easier to discuss sensitive topics. The interactive activities and real-life scenarios were excellent for practicing the skills we learned. I will definitely be enrolling for more of your courses and highly recommend Stella as a tutor.
