AI summary of reviews

Attendees particularly value the practical use of the ALGEE framework, scenarios and discussions, which make difficult mental-health topics approachable and give them confidence to recognise distress and start sensitive conversations with young people. They describe knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create a relaxed, non-judgemental space, alongside a well-structured blend of self-study, webinars and breakout activities. The handbook and resources support application at work, though some prefer face-to-face delivery.

Really enjoyable course. I had previously completed the Adult MHFA course so was worried I wouldn't really benefit from anything new but I was wrong! Instructors were fantastic and made it interesting. Thank you so much! x

Excellent resources, particularly the videos and the manual. The discussions were understandably different due to the remote nature but worked as well as they could. Chloe is so personable, positive and reassuring.

I felt like I had a good knowledge about depression in particular before the course however what I found most useful was more advice on how to help people and what to say - to some degree I felt that what I had said was the right thing but there's always room for improvement. I like how each scenario was broken down into ALGEE and that we had time to discuss our ideas. Thank you.

Great course- really enjoyed it. Would have liked to have seen more on gender and sexual identity, as I feel this is an area of increasing anxiety and health concerns, amongst students.

good course that everyone should be made aware of Mental Health first aid, so we can help and prevent or bring the numbers down in relation to suicide being carried out.

Response: Hi Charlie, Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate all comments and MHFA Wales will gain sight of your feedback too. It was great to 'meet you'.

This course raised further confidence in reassuring strategies that I am familiar with to support learners and staff are accurate. The use of breakout room, compassion for the sensitive topics arising and the light humour to release our own stress enabled further concentration for the next scenario. I was fortunate to be part of this group welcomed in breakout rooms and David pitched the right tone and pace throughout. Thank you
