It was a hard course to get through with many aspects quite upsetting but necessary.

The course was good to do, as it gave me more insight in what to do in these situations. I did find the course emotionally and mentally hard at times due to the subjects being talked about but was overall very good.

Excellent course, which I found very thorough and interesting. The interactive elements were very useful. I would just suggest that with scenarios, there would be more info on their young person's initial response to you approaching them....as I feel you could go into more depth with the ALGEE

Very thought provoking. The only thing that would have made it better would be to have a hard copy of the manual, so you could refer back to it easily, during the webinars to reinforce the discussions. I would definitely recommend to colleagues / friends.

I did the adult one a few years ago face to face during 2 days. I found that I preferred this format as i was able to be better prepared for discussions

The course has provided me with a better understanding of how to assist a person in crisis, and how to have open and purposeful discussions around suicide, self harm and NSSI. Previously this is something I would have felt difficult dealing with. The learning materials were easily accessible, engaging and thought provoking. The course has enabled me to look at our school community and PSE/ Wellbeing curriculum and address any gaps and misconceptions that are evident. Therefore providing a curriculum that helps our learners to thrive and be active, ethical informed citizens who have the knowledge of how to manage their mental health.

I think sometimes the group work was a bit long-winded but this may have been due to us being a small group and so not as much time was needed to contribute as if it were a larger group. perhaps a handout with help and advice numbers/websites etc. would have been useful for during the scenario based exercises
