I found the course very clear and well delivered, however from a professional perspective there was too much focus on active listening, communication skills etc. that are central to the role I do as a social worker every day in numerous different scenarios- so less time spent on this would have held my interest more at this point - that said the course affirms the importance of these skills in suicide first aid

a worthwhile course that hopefully has better prepared me for conversations with those experiencing suicidal thinking.

I learned a lot through the course, it had good materials and a good instructor. It was set at the right pace for me, and did not assume knowledge nor go too slowly. I think the only thing we found was that some of the boxes were a bit small in the booklet where we had to write quite a few notes.

I thought that I might be upset by this course but it was delivered in a manner which though serious was light enough not to cause any. Would have been nice to be able to print the booklet. Maybe just me but I could not do so either at home or work.

Really useful course. Great to have handouts to work with whilst the course is going on to write notes on rather than having notes separate to marry up with handouts that are sent out later. I will be recommending my Mental Health Support Worker colleagues attend this course.
