I have learnt a lot from the tutors as well as the participants. Am looking forward to more such interactive sessions in future as well.

I thought that the course was well delivered and that I can confidently go away knowing I am capable of having what I would have previously said a very difficult conversation with someone about suicide and feel comfortable and confident in my contribution to their situation.

I was honestly dreading the course. It's not a topic i enjoy discussing. However, i felt the whole thing was well delivered and a very sensitive and informative approach to a difficult topic. I do feel the information and the skills and techniques used can be used in more of a professional setting, and will help me be a better colleague and mentor to others around me. I have learnt that my first responses would probably not be the best, and that listening to someone is more the key and allowing them the time to process and speak is the best way forward. I have also learnt that self care is just as important, and that we should encourage each other as a group to take an hour lunch and we shouldn't discourage that self care.

Superb course delivered by an excellent tutor who clearly has a lot of passion in the topics that she trains. Excellently structured and paced course that gave plenty of really useful information to put into practice not only in the workplace, but for home life and personal wellbeing too.

I have been a front line officers for years, dealing with mental health and suicide on a regular basis, on top of that I have been trained in mental health first aid. The objective of this course was to teach us to recognise signs of suicide and how to response, however I have been doing this for years. I have had numerous members of the public tell me they wish to end their life, I have talked people off bridges and been involved in numerous mental health incidents, I don't feel this course is appropriate for experienced police officers, as teaching us how to listen and talk to someone is pretty much what we do everyday. I feel this course would be perfect for new officers prior to deployment. The course content was good, the tutor was good, it just wasn't the right course for me.
