SFA02-Suicide First Aid: Understanding Suicide Intervention Reviews

Andrea C, 30 Sep 2024

I found this course much clearer than others I have done on this topic. The tutor had a common sense, realistic and humanistic approach. I found this helped me to focus on the skills needed much better than learning with text book style acronyms as I've tried in the past.

A thought-provoking day with lots of useful take-aways for practical use in my day job after due reflection, particularly at this particular juncture as I am working with what seems a cohort of clients that seems to be ever increasing in both risk and complexity.

The course was paced perfectly and the content explained clearly. Sean is a brilliant trainer and although the content could be viewed as sensitive, he added light humour when appropriate. Breaks were well timed.

An excellent course , very well presented. It has left me feeling far more able to cope effectively with the subject as I now have a method to follow.

This is an excellent course, both as a standalone subject, but as a follow on from the Mental Health First Aid training course. It is an intense course due to the subject matter, but when delivered by a good trainer, such as Kate, the potential impact on individual mental wellbeing is managed and lessened.

I thought this was a fantastic course to go on. I learned lots of ways in which other factors are considered relating to suicidal individuals and lots of statistics which are so helpful, also, scarily, that sometimes none of the symptoms and signs show up.
