I marked this "After completing the training are you more confident you can recognise the signs that someone may be experiencing thoughts of suicide?" as NO because I felt confident prior to the course that I could recognise these signs. I don't find role play in these situations useful as it is not real life and I don't think it adds anything. I would have preferred to spend more time focussing on ways to help someone in this situation. I found some bits confusing, i.e. first we are told we are only administering 'first aid' to the person thinking of suicide and to hand over to a professional, then later we were told not to rush to hand over but to concentrate on building rapport with the person. The course was a bit long. Some people were flagging for the last hour and a half.

Really great course and group and feel more confident with the nature of the topic and understanding the limits you need to consider for your own self care

Really eye opening. Would recommend to everyone. I think awareness needs to made at a young age from school

Was a very good, interesting and well taught course, I am considering whether to take further accreditation but have not yet committed to this.
