SFA 02 - Suicide First Aid: Understanding Suicide Intervention Reviews

It is a very important subject to address and the training was done very well. The tutor was prepared, the tasks were interactive and there was a lot of group activities involved. The breaks given were nice and long and this allow us to relax and grab a drink and wind down for a bit before starting the next section. The only negative thing is that it was very long and at the end of both days I felt a bit drained. In particular, the first day, I was on inbound calls straight after and it was quite hard to stay focused.

Really good course, would have utilised a slightly larger audience within the venue, but not too large due to course content

Really enjoyed todays course, this isn’t always an easy topic to discuss but I feel more confident after todays session. Great content and tutor.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this training day and I feel I will definitely be implementing the things I have learnt in my calls. it has enabled me to see the patients from a different point of view. It has given me more confidence with regards to talking to people in these situations.

Really good to be aware of from both managerial aspects and for patient care in the community. Good to know about firearms and suicide also as did not know this and good to know what to say to GP services when you have a patient requiring help and support.
