City and Guilds – Programmable Logic Controllers reviews

4.6 (271 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Hands-on PLC rigs and live examples make the learning easy to understand, attendees say, while knowledgeable, patient tutors explain concepts clearly and support questions across different ability levels. They value the structured progression from basics to practical projects, useful handouts and a friendly atmosphere. The course builds confidence in ladder logic and small automation programmes that transfer to workplace tasks, although some find the pace brisk and want more time for exercises.

On day three, an extra 6 people were in the class. They were learning different formats to the one we were. The lesson seemed very rushed and the tutor did not seem to have the time as on previous days to give assistance. It also became confusing when the tutor was teaching a command then explaining how to do it on each different system.

A few more examples of circuits and how they are put together would be good.

The Material was new to me, and is a great introduction to the PLC world. I felt that the tutor was very assistive and knowledgeable in the subject.

Well presented course. However i feel the course notes could provide a little more for revision after each days learning. Some examples of program techniques to consolidate may prove useful.

Arsham is very knowledgeable and helpful through out. I think more time on the subject would help in a basic understanding of more of the topics
