City and Guilds – Programmable Logic Controllers Reviews

Excellent course delivered by a tutor with an extremely high level of knowledge of the subject. All the staff at technique were friendly and approachable. Whilst many centers seek to produce PLC courses where the exercises are designed using actual hardware situations I found that working through the exercises simply with basic switches and LED's much more useful. No awkward mechanical issues to deal with on top of the programming. Thoroughly enjoyed this course, I will be bugging my company to send me for more.

Would be easier if it focused on one software per day / week so all students are on the same software at the same time. Apart from that was spot on. Thanks.

Mark clearly knows his stuff and how to present it in an understandable way, the course content and simulator is excellent.

I thought the course was a great way for a beginner to enter into the world of PLCs. I had little knowledge of PLCs to start but now have a better understanding and appreciation of how they work and how to approach programming for future work projects. it was just what i was looking for.

My Tutor was Reg, he was very very knowledgable and very easy to talk to and have a discussion with. His teaching style was perfect. The centre has great range of equipment and great facilities. Would strongly recommend this course

This is my third course completed within Technique learning and I have only good things to say about all of the three courses (PLC online, 2391-52 and 2392-10). Great bunch of gentlemen all round and all very knowledgible in their respective fields. Just as importantly, they all know how to bring their content alive and relate it back to the real world. This PLC took me from being a complete novice, whereby I'd never worked on a PLC before only tried a few pre recorded PLC training courses that I really didn't get anything from, to being confident to write programs to a FDS, understand all the steps I'd need in the program as well as how they should be formed to get the correct outcome. This live course and tutor interaction is great value for money and a great way to upskill for any electrical engineer. For anyone looking to get into PLCs I cannot recommend this course enough (Espically when delivered by Mark). I've tried all the cheaper, pre recorded PLC courses out there and not gained a fraction of the skills I got from this course.

Course criteria stated that 'typically', 2 to 3 systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) would be covered, however each person on the course was only able to access one hardware manufacturer setup during the course. Our course progressed quickly (we had all but completed Day 3 assessments by the end of Day 2) and I felt that more could have been covered in the given time. Aside from the above, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found our tutor to be exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
