I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have learnt so much. Carol and Gary were excellent. Carol's knowledge and expertise in the ADOS and ASI was clear to see and she was brilliant at communicating the content. Gary's explanation of the tasks was clear and having them shown clearly on Moodle was perfect.
I had the absolute best experience on this course, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been taught by Dr. Carol Stott. Her depth of knowledge, clarity in teaching, and ability to make complex content accessible were truly outstanding. She is not only exceptionally knowledgeable but also a brilliant teacher whose passion for autism assessment and research shines through in every session. The training on both the ADOS-2 and ADI-R was incredibly comprehensive and well-structured. Dr. Stott guided us through each module with precision, providing rich clinical insights and practical examples that brought the material to life. Her expertise made the learning process engaging, and I now feel much more confident in applying these gold-standard tools in practice. I genuinely feel sad that the course has come to an end, but I sincerely hope to engage with Dr. Stott again in the future. Her dedication and passion left a lasting impression, and this course has been one of the most valuable professional experiences I’ve had. Thank you for an exceptional learning journey.
I was advised the Gold Star Training for Becoming an Autism Assessor was done by Hogrefe and to wat until next course available to book. What starts as a completely daunting task of understanding the forms/ process etc, ends with new skills and ability to feel confident in starting a new area of work within Mental Health. The course was well organised and covered a lot of complex information in the most appropriate manner that it can within the time constraints. Carol was extremely knowledgeable and approachable, it felt very easy and supportive when the class asked questions. Garry was well organised and clearly explained the tasks.

The course was thorough and well designed. I have learnt a great deal over the five days and now feel confident and equipped to be able to carry out the ADOS and ADI assessments. I particularly like the various opportunities for practice and feedback. It has even given me ideas about how to incorporate aspects of the design and delivery of the course into my own online teaching. Thank you! Would definitely recommend.
I learnt so much in such a short space of time. The sessions were very easy to follow and extremely engaging. Carol is a brilliant educator and her passion for what she is teaching is apparent.
Overall, the. course was insightful and having never conducted a ADOS -2 or ADI-r assessment, I would not say that I am confident to conduct one at this point, however, I know with practice and with the use of the course information for the next 3-6 months, I will be able to safely conduct the ADOS - 2 and the ADI - R assessment confidently.
I would recommend this course for all practicing Health Visitors
