RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

-The course was very good and explicit. -The trainer Jack, was so good and very patient, he made sure we all gained knowledge and understand PBS. -The content of the material was self explanatory , simple words used to help me comprehend.

Very engaging course with realistic enthusiastic trainer. I didn’t expect to be strong enough to manage but now understand it’s about technique and feel confident. Useful to experience being in a hold also to appreciate from young person’s perspective. Hopefully I won’t need to use it as I have also learned a lot about behaviours and techniques to de-escalate.

The training was of high quality and relevant to my workplace. I learnt a number of different ways to de-escalate a situation before going into the restraint and how to do it effectively. We used lots of examples and the trainer corrected where necessary and was vigilant. It was interactive and enjoyable. I wish Ben ran the sessions on day 1 and 2.

Great training, the emphasis and detail on the work to avoid a physical restraint was brilliant. Enjoyable, really confident in the restraints I will need to use.

Of the nine days of training I have been on in my new role, this was by far the most useful, the most engaging, and the best delivered. I feel confident that I know how to restrain a young person if necessary, but I also understand how I can try to avoid it coming to that. Ben is perhaps the best course trainer I have ever had the pleasure to work with. His enthusiasm, knowledge and passion made the day fly by. Thanks, Ben.

The course was very informative, I like how it’s completely aimed at the child’s best interest, and the experiences and past traumas of children and understanding their behaviour. Ben has been brilliant and has such a great range of knowledge and has a brilliant way of teaching that knowledge. Bens high energy and thorough teaching for the practical has taught me a lot and helped build my confidence.
