RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

I have been trained by other providers in previous organisations, and when I was looking for a new provider I wanted someone different, I could see the flaws un all the other providers, the language used to support vulnerable children, the physical restraints and how none of them focused on the child themselves, seeing the child before the behaviour. On the website and from talking to Rachael it quickly became apparent that sherwood had the same mindset as I did. As a registered manager this is so important as the training must be right to embed the culture that I want in my staff team. I really enjoyed that the training covered the law, relevant legislation and the children's homes regulations. I have learnt how I want my PBS plans and RA to look, how I'm going to adapt these to meet the needs of each child, whilst also incorporating the law. This training has been the best PBS I have ever taken part in,it was the right pace, the right interaction and Ben was an excellent trainer who was able to share lived experiences which is also really beneficial. Thankyou Ben and Sherwood I will be booking training for the next new starters, so this positive culture becomes embedded within Virtue.

Response: Hi Emma. Thank you for taking this time to leave feedback. We are really glad to hear you enjoyed the course and delivery by Ben and its fantastic to hear you can implement this within your role to benefit the children you support. At Sherwood Training we place a real emphasis on shared learning and experiences, we find it really helps people connect with the course content. We'll make sure to pass your feedback onto Ben and we look forward to working with you all at Virtue Health Services.

Excellent training from Ben on how to observe and look for cues you don't normal see like the red cars, to ensure people we support are given the best quality of life and we are all safe, really enjoyed the training and look forward to using the skills we spoke about to have more positive days with the guests we support.

It was an interesting course and an educating one at that. The trainer did a great job by teaching some important skills and practicals on how to enjoy working with residents. She’s indeed a fantastic trainer!

The course was very well put together with a mix of practical and theory both relevant to the area I work in. There is so much I can take forward and use in my practice. Easily one of the best courses attended. Kirstie kept the training interesting and engaged brilliantly with all of us. Fantastic all round, highly recommend.
