SFA04-Suicide First Aid: Tutor Development Programme Reviews

Overall course feels well paced and progressive. The improvement in confidence in the whole group is obvious. practice makes perfect, plenty of this today. More on the job learning to follow.

Having opportunity to learn/practice and provide/receive feedback for me is a great way to learn. And it felt like "safe" space from early on, and so knowing that it was OK to not be perfect took some of the pressure off. The feedback was positive from the cohorts, and where there was a learning point it was handled sensitively and in a constructive way by either Alison or Jamie. Big thanks to both of them for support, encouragement, and helping the cohort connect.

Really good course on SFA lite and USI over the last 3 days. I can now see the benefit of delivering this training to my colleagues also, and for them to gain additional knowledge and confidence with not only asking those difficult questions around suicide, but also their ability to formulate a plan and feel comfortable with this. Both trainers Alison and Jamie were fantastic throughout, were very attentive, helping the group with any queries and providing good learning tips for use on our own delivery.

Overall fantastic SFA lite session received this morning from Jamie and Alison briefly to do introductions. I feel my confidence in highlighting areas of concern and having the ability to ask those difficult questions has grown.
