Worthwhile and engaging I really enjoyed the CSTF Health & Safety mandatory training day with Jan. Mandatory training can sometimes feel like something you simply have to get through, but Jan delivered it in a really interesting and engaging way that kept the whole group involved. What really stood out was the breadth of Jan’s experience, particularly his background in the ambulance service and his medico-legal expertise. He was able to bring the legislation, training requirements and legal aspects to life, encouraging us to explore not just what the rules are, but why they matter and how they apply in real life situations. There were some really interesting discussions and opportunities to consider different scenarios in depth, which made the day feel much more interactive than a standard mandatory training session. Jan’s experience and knowledge were evident throughout, and he created an environment where people felt comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts. There was also an unexpected medical emergency during the day which Jan dealt with exceptionally calmly and professionally. His response demonstrated a real depth of experience and expertise, and it was reassuring to see such a composed and capable approach when something completely unexpected occurred. Overall, I found the day genuinely valuable and much more interesting than I had anticipated. Jan’s knowledge, experience and relaxed but professional delivery made what could have been a routine mandatory training day both enjoyable and thought-provoking. I would definitely recommend it.
