I had a great friendly day. Our trainer was amazing. Great teachings gave us time to ask questions. Everything she taught was clear and good understanding I gained more than skills. Enjoyed attending her class.

Educator could definitely update his evidence base, particularly when it comes to lifting and postural elements. Otherwise it was okay

I found the training session today very poor. I have completed it for 3 years now all with different trainers and this was the worst. The practical parts were rushed at the end only one demonstration with the hoist from the trainer no time to practice this due to poor time management despite the course not finishing till 17:40 The course was not interactive Paul read from the slides and did not engage with the group. He engaged with a couple of particular members from the group those from a mental health background as this was clearly Paul’s experience. Although Paul was friendly it felt very new to him and robotic of reading the PowerPoint and playing the videos. Paul him self was yawning throughout the later part of the day. Although we are there to learn this course is designed for people who already have experience of a minimum of 6 months in the care setting and I felt parts of the course were patronising and as if there was no experience in the room. To have people join half way through the day was new to me this time and it caused a significant delay as we did introductions again the safety brief again which I think impacted the ability to test out using the equipment.
