I enjoyed the course and did learn new things but having just been through a performance management issue with a probationer, I was expecting this course to be more about the whole process from start to finish including what needs to be recorded, how and where to record notes of conversations. A more formal approach is what I was expecting. This course does seem to be very similar in content to some I've been on recently about Coach and Focus and giving and receiving feedback. this course seemed to be about a more informal approach when poor performance first comes to light.

I enjoyed the first 1.5 days of the course. The second afternoon on contrasting statements and STATE left me a bit cold. I think it's probably because I find the most interesting parts of the course around some of the collective challenges the organisation faces and what is needed to shift out of them. I find the individual techniques a bit less useful (e.g. contrasting statements, managing difficult conversation). Feels like they're a bit more common sense/basic emotional intelligence.

I would recommend more focus on teaching.

The share your screen function should be mandatory as there was a member of the group that was struggling so holding the class up. If the trainer could see the person's screen then communication would have been clearer and quicker between the two. I think they couldn't see it because the person was using 2 screens. If I had not used pivot tables before or encountered it, I would have been just as confused.

Personally it was the least productive day out of the 4, the HR processes didn't resonate but the breakout sessions were useful as ever.

Office 365, Share point and other Microsoft applications are clearly link. I am not sure what we wanted was addressed. This might be down to specification. However I would expect the experts at Happy to of better extracted our requirements

Nothing wrong with the course as such, it was just more basic than I thought it would be. Most of the stuff that was talked about I already knew

There were technical difficulties at the start of the session which meant we started 30minutes later for a 1.5h training workshop. A significant amount of time was then spent at the start making sure that we were all connected with the right software and audios were working etc. which 'wasted' course information time so I'd suggest that sessions begin earlier than they do to accommodate users connecting, testing and downloading the right software to join the training. The trainer was knowledgeable, knew the system well and was able to explain functionality and how things linked together. It offered a basic overview with a few additional areas of information and Q&A was good as we went through the training. I would recommend receiving the guide just before the training starts so that we can make notes as we go along. I would also suggest a different naming mechanism so that participants names are used rather than generic participant numbers.

Good overall for people who may not be knowledgeable about any of this, however felt very basic to me and not sure I gained anything new from it. Liked it being participatory. Could have been cut down in time a bit, less time in break outs and perhaps no break given already quite short - could save 30 mins.
