An extremely knowledgeable tutor, Allan presented the material quickly but in a pace that was quick enough to cover everything and not leave anything out. It was intensive, but achieved a good result and the result was that I was pleased to have done this course with Allan. He was friendly and happy to take off the cuff questions which often helped the understanding and bigger picture. Very good indeed.

Course was a good base knowledge of PLCs. Could have had more interaction with the PLCs in the robotic arms/conveyor set-ups etc.

The course has enabled me to gain a better understanding of PLC's and how they work. This will be very beneficial for my future role.

The equipment is old and it may be time for an update of the computer, screens, key boards and PLCS. The constant engaged tone that was omnipresent in the room was an unwelcome distraction, often breaking my concentration. The presentation of the material was done very well, Eliott was a great orator. However, the course content was covered too quickly for me. Also we were told that the content of the course was primarily for learning fault finding. We had no exercises in looking at completed programmes and finding faults. The main method was building our own problems, full of faults that are only there because I mis-understood function and I did not find this helpful. The written presentation was a bit poor. The explanations were excellent but again a bit fast. I could have done with a slow walk through for things like flasher circuits and how to reset programmes and jump back to main programmes, from subroutines. Over all I found Eliott cordial and approachable and I could ask him to fault find my programmes, that he fixed, without fail. If he was slower wit the presentations, he could pass on better some of his excellent skill in fault fining and rectification. This course was the week of the Queen funeral so we lost a full day.

Found that we were out of our depth a little on the project and that there wasnt much supportive help. Moved too quick through areas that were needed on the project. Equipment is now outdated and not the newest for Siemens which was one of the reason i attended this course.

Course delivery, even though we lost a day due to Her Majesty's funeral was excellent and never felt like we were rushed. Tom was excellent at the content delivery considering the 'dry' content of Standards and knew the standards extremely well and was able to answer all questions. Lunch sandwiches were very nice but I would not consider a sandwich on its own as Lunch Provided. It would have been better if a selection of soft drinks (even bottles of water or a water cooler) was available with additional snack items such as a back of crisps or a fruit pot was included in the lunch. The provision of tea and decent quality coffee was great.

Quality and level of learning provided was to a good/appropriate standard. The trainer (Tom) was patient with all students and more than happy to provide help and repeat information when required. The trainer also provided real world examples of uses of the standard to make the information provided relatable and therefore more memorable, which helped with the exam. To make improvements on the course I would have liked to have completed mock exams on the computer as opposed to being on paper to better prepare me for the exam.
