The training today has really enlightened me around Suicide First Aid. It can be such a stigmatized area and can be really difficult to ask someone if this is what they are intending or thinking about. Shian explained it in a way where I feel I will be able to ask someone if they are thinking of suicide. Knowing what support networks are out there and discussions from others that have helped moving forward when signposting to other networks. I feel it has helped not only for myself as a professional when supporting others but also in terms of self care if this is a situation that arises I feel I will have the tools to give myself the self care. Thank you Shian and all today who were involved, brilliant training.

Thought this course was really interesting and useful and it is really important that the more people are able to talk about suicide, the better

I feel far more confident to approach a conversation with a suicidal person and support them through the process. I feel that the first section around suicide could have been condensed. This would have left more time to expand on the suicide safety guide - 3 steps. Possibly analysing case studies or videos in small groups and how we would respond to these situations.

This has given me the tools to recognize and support people with thoughts of suicide. It has also highlighted to me that more people need to be aware that this can happen to anyone at anytime in their life.
