Whilst it was useful to pick up some tricks for accurate manual data checking, I was expecting the course would be centred around how to incorporate data-accuracy reconciliations within a database/Excel environment. I felt the length of the course was far too long considering the the simplicity and repetitive nature of what we were learning; I would have probably come back with the same level of education if it had been completed in two hours rather than almost seven. I think the overall principals of the course were good and useful. The trainer was quite engaging and kept the pace of the course well. Data accuracy is extremely relevant and I'm glad that training on it has been provided, but I would have preferred it if it were more reflective of our current working practises.

The Trainer was great, engaging, friendly and thorough. Some of the exercises seemed suitable for children, for example the identification of numbers eg postcode, sort code etc seems a bizarre exercise for working adults. Marginal utility declines steeply after the first two hours, thus two days is too long.
Response : Thank you for your feedback, Chloe. We work hard to engage people in what could potentially be a very dry subject area, and all credit to the group for getting involved. We have plenty of exercises in the workshop for a couple of important reasons: 1) the techniques are simple and straightforward, and it’s only with repeated practice that they are embedded. We can see from the excellent results from the pre-course and post-course assessments that the group had become significantly more accurate, and quite a bit faster too. You’ll only get these results after a healthy amount of practising the techniques. A shorter workshop and fewer exercises wouldn’t deliver the same benefits to you. 2) Self-awareness, and identifying one’s own error patterns is another key learning outcome of the workshop. It’s only through making a number of errors, across a number of different exercises, that you’ll ‘flush out’ enough mistakes to start to give you meaningful information. Well done to you and the group for an excellent set of results - we work our participants hard and it’s paid off 😀
