Cultural Competence M1 - Willingness To Engage Reviews

Good mix of presenting and group participation. Could do with a little longer for the break outs. 3 hours could have been a better length overall with a 15min break

Really interesting content and well delivered although Friday afternoon is a difficult time to keep focused! . Some of the break out sessions took a while to get the conversation going so could have done with a bit longer. It would have been useful to know in advance that additional work required inbetween sessions so we could plan time for this.

I would have liked the opportunity for more cross group discussion on some of the questions but overall it was an interesting session. There were examples given that I had not really given any thought to before so it made me give consideration to them. There were also some difficult questions to thnk about in terms of finding a solutions to the way in which to deal with them effectively e.g. encouraging staff to be aware of the potential impact of the language and words they may use.

Interesting subject matter and conversations that developed in the session. I like the focus on inclusivity, humility, fear of failure. I agree that these are important leadership qualities. I'm still struggling with how to make concrete commitments and actions, although I agree it's important to actually turn talking into action which so often gets lost with training. I manage 2 members of staff so don't see myself as particularly senior so I'm thinking of the areas where I can have influence in the areas we discussed.

Excellent content and structure; could have used and agenda and timing of what to expect in the 2.5 hours, better introductions from everyone and 10 min break slightly earlier please!

Very impressed with the course so far. As always it would be lovely to have longer for discussion but totally understand the time constraints. The facilitators are very engaging and thought provoking. I am impressed how in an online meeting they manage to exude so much energy and get such good conversation going.

nicely balanced, iot's challenging to engage with this online but they did a good job of getting that engagement going. i felt this was quite introductory so looking forward to advancing things at next meeting

As Clay seemed quite softly spoken I would like to hear his volume increased a little before the next module if possible, otherwise presentation was well balanced & well paced, with both Clay & Lou invested in their work. I would also like to see the training promoted more widely among non-management to give staff a better understanding of the organisations will to change its culture & to help build the trust of staff in their management to assist in facilitating a widespread acceptance of 'uncomfortable conversations' being held in safe spaces. Tell the staff when, why & how cultural competence is being improved in their managers & most importantly why the staff are VITAL in making this work for all. Not every staff /manager relationship is perfect so how do those staff & managers get their voices heard ?
