AI summary of reviews

Attendees particularly value the practical use of the ALGEE framework, scenarios and discussions, which make difficult mental-health topics approachable and give them confidence to recognise distress and start sensitive conversations with young people. They describe knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create a relaxed, non-judgemental space, alongside a well-structured blend of self-study, webinars and breakout activities. The handbook and resources support application at work, though some prefer face-to-face delivery.

I really enjoyed the course and it was nice to hear the opinions and perspectives of those at the university outside my own campus and discipline. The trainers were friendly and interesting and in all this was a worthwhile experience that will be useful to me in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed the course. It has given me more of an understanding of Mental Health and how to support a young person in distress.

Was a lot more conversation based than training I've done in the past which has just involved slide shows. Lots of opportunities to ask questions and because the training was spread over 2 weeks I feel all the information has sunk in for me better than it would have over a shorter time frame. I learned lots of very practical skills in facilitating conversations about mental health and definitely feel better equipped to deal with any possible situations. Really enjoyed Steve's delivery style and felt he held the conversation very well but also left ample opportunity for others to contribute. Would definitely recommend this training, thank you :)

Stephen was able to provide real life examples of mental health first aid, which made the training much more relatable and has reassured me that I would be able to follow similar steps in such a situation.

I found the training very useful. We had great discussions. I definitely recommend buying the handbook as it is great to use once the training is over to make sure we remain confident when facing certain situations.
