DAVID K, 17 Nov 2022
I feel that the course highlighted that i do already hold some knowledge on the subject but also provided me with new mays to explore and identify people that may need help. It did provide me to be quite positive and enlightened in such a subject, as it has encouraged me to try and help and guide any people that I may feel needs a helping hand. This also applies to home life Aswell as work, also i like the self-checker part to check that you are ok yourself.

The course is an ok introduction if you haven't had experience of witnessing or supporting someone with suicidal behavior and thoughts.

What I enjoyed most is understanding the importance of non-judgement and acceptance when offering support to someone else. All about the plan,

I wondered how the SFA course might impact in only two half day sessions, but I was really surprised at how much knowledge and skill training the tutor managed to impart, without any aspect feeling rushed. A very empowering and confidence building course, delivered by an excellent tutor, in a psychologically safe manner.

I found the course and the tutor excellent. I wasn't sure what to expect but completed it pleased I had done it and confident in my approach to helping someone who is experiencing suicidality. I felt it was the right length as screen time can make learning that much more demanding and the intermittent breaks were welcome and imperative. It has made me more confident in my work and wish to go onto further learning about suicide. Thank you very much indeed.
