RRN Level 3: Restrictive Physical Intervention reviews

4.9 (6,216 reviews)
AI summary of reviews

Practical, safety-focused learning is the course’s defining strength: attendees say it links clear theory on positive behaviour support, de-escalation, law, dignity and least-restrictive practice to step-by-step demonstrations, realistic scenarios and repeated practice. They value knowledgeable, patient and approachable trainers who use humour, lived experience and feedback to keep demanding subjects engaging, inclusive and easy to understand. The well-organised sessions build confidence that transfers directly to supporting children, patients and service users at work, although some find the theory lengthy.

I was a little nervous before attending but Kirstie was very good at making me feel comfortable, she is friendly and approachable and very knowledgeable. I feel more confident about having to do breakaways and restraints. I also thought the theory side was very good, and was great at explaining the vulnerabilities of the young people and understanding what they've been through. You can tell that Kirstie is passionate about what she does and has genuine compassion and empathy for vulnerable young people.

The course slides were very informative and the trainer went through all the different scenarios which was useful. Very helpful in answering questions that were asked and gave everyone a chance to ask questions and interact with the course material.

Leant so much more and going over thing agin really helped me remember things. Kirsty explained things so well and gave examples that made you unstand more. I have also learnt more in how to control situations before they exclate. Over all ready happy with the train and Kirsty is a lovely lady and teachers really well.

Kirstie was an amazing instructor, very compassionate and her skills were very clear. Kirstie explained scenarios and went into clear detail with every part of the course. She assessed us individually and I felt confident at each part with how she addressed us and myself individually. Kirstie was reassuring at difficult parts of the course and if parts became difficult/ overwhelming. I enjoyed the course and got everything I needed out of this with lots of feedback. Amazing instructor for Horizon.
