Trainer had a lot of experience. Always had an answer to questions.
Tony was very informative, patient and supportive.
Generally a well run course with an experienced trainer, who did a good job. Some teaching material was a bit out of date. There was no access to hot food.
Response: Hi Will, as the venue is a college, unfortunately, the cafe is not open at the weekends which is beyond out control. This is mentioned in our reminder email. Thank you for you comments about the teaching material. We review this periodically in line with the HSE guidelines and will ensure this programme is the next one done. I'm pleased your enjoyed your course and we hope to welcome you back again in 3 years!
Very good course well aimed at the conservation work I'm involved with outdoors. Good to do practical work on situations that might actually happen. Danny was very happy to cover anything we felt we needed and gave some good advice about our first aid kits, I shall be adding to ours.
We did no 'in the wild' as we have done before. I found Danny's accent sometimes too difficult to follow, esp if he talked fast!
The course had all the requirements needed for First Aid and the gentleman who ran it was very friendly. I think perhaps we could have gone a little quicker and maybe done a little more outside but overall it was good!
Overall very useful - I liked how he used the experience of other group members and used mix of discussion and practical. Could do with more on ‘emotional’ care of casualty/ others/ yourself. Referring to people who were actively suicidal as ‘nut jobs’ was totally inappropriate.
Response: Hi Natasha, thank you for your feedback. I'm disappointed to hear one of our trainers using that expression, I will pass this feedback onto our management team and ensure this does not happen again. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Limited facilities on site outside of course
Presentation and materials really good. It’s a lot to take in and I do wonder about splitting it across two weekends. Centre has nothing to eat - if like me you forget your lunch you go hungry.
Really good course. Knowledgeable trainer, pace a little slow at times, but managed to cram a lot into the weekend.
