Money Laundering Reviews

I have previously attended the London College of Policing money laundering course and the content of the pilot was very similar. The breakout rooms were good as it gets you to interact and participate in the course.

The course was excellent overall and was clear the tutors knew what they were talking about and asked probing questions. What was excellent - good team discussions for problems (although an improvement would be for members to have access to this when they break away to discuss). The only other matter regarding content would be to discuss tipping off a bit less. It went on for a little too long and instead you might also want to include POCA part 5 powers relating to AFOs, not just cash seizure (which was a good input).

Certainly learnt a lot from this course, a lot more than I knew before hand. Financial investigation has always been a 'dry' subject for me, but I do feel the trainers broke down my perception. I do now have a far greater grasp of legislation around Money Laundering. The 'smaller' group work helped with this understanding.

I understand this is a pilot course so there was alot of discussion during the course around the content and what was / wasnt relevant which interrupted the flow of the course, particularly around the S71 notice issue. This will need to be included and at the outset excluded explicitly to avoid this discussion on further courses. There were a few technical issues with Bob's connection which made the flow of the course less than ideal. Clearly the instructors know the subject very well so once these issues are sorted it should flow alot better. For non FI's this course will give a good level of awareness about ML and procedures to be followed.

Very informative course, as a current AFI within the EA I think that the course is pitched in the right area for the EA criminalinvestigators

Bob and Paul were experienced and knowledgeable. The case studies were a bit slow but did the job in getting us thinking and talking. I think that s71 and r61 should be built into the discussions because we deal with these regularly. Thank you.
